The Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor was built in various stages between 1902 and 1961, based on a design by architect Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia in the neo-Gothic style, modeled on the church Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre in Paris. The church consists of two levels. On the lower floor, accessed through the main entrance, is the neo-Catholic, Byzantine crypt. Above it, on the upper floor, is the church, whose style is a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic.
