Essentials about Ski Dubai in brief

As is well known, Dubai is located in the desert. Nevertheless, you can ski here – on snow, mind you, and not on sand. After all, Dubai wouldn’t be Dubai if it didn’t make that possible, too. Since 2005, Ski Dubai, the first indoor ski slope in the Middle East, has been making it possible, located directly in the Mall of the Emirates.

Ski Dubai slopes and facilities

On a snow-covered area of 22,500 square meters, Ski Dubai has five slopes that differ in difficulty, height and steepness. The longest is 400 meters long with a difference in altitude of 60 meters. Thus, Ski Dubai is not only a challenge for beginners, but certainly fun for somewhat more experienced skiers. There is also a freestyle zone and a 90-meter half pipe for snowboarders. A four-seater chairlift, a drag lift and a passenger conveyor belt provide for getting up to the “mountain”.

The indoor snowpark of Ski Dubai

Even non-skiers can have fun at Ski Dubai, because in addition to the slopes, there is also the world’s largest indoor snow park. Covering an area of 3,000 square meters, you can race on toboggan and bobsled tracks, roll downhill in a giant plastic speedball, or scamper across the slopes on a 150-meter-long zipline. And if you want, you can even see penguins in the snow park.

By the way, the ticket price for Ski Dubai already includes the rental of ski equipment and clothing. Fortunately, you don’t have to bring your ski boots with you to Dubai (for reasons of hygiene, you only have to bring your own hats and gloves or buy them locally). And if you don’t fancy snow in Dubai at all, you can at least take a look at the ski bunnies from the outside. From the Mall of the Emirates, you can watch the spectacle in Ski Dubai through a huge glass front that extends over several floors.
