KUNSTHALLE WIEN

Description

Essentials about Kunsthalle Wien in brief

For friends of contemporary art, a visit to the Kunsthalle Wien is always a worthwhile experience. The Kunsthalle is an exhibition venue for international contemporary art and related contemporary discourses. The Kunsthalle pays special attention to the development of new formats of exhibiting and communicating. The Kunsthalle Wien does not have a collection of its own, but instead dedicates itself to the presentation and reflection of art with changing solo and thematic exhibitions.

The locations of Kunsthalle Wien

Opened in 1992 as a temporary container on Karlsplatz, the Kunsthalle now has two locations. The new main building has been located in the Museumsquartier since 2001. For this purpose, the former winter riding hall of the Hofstallungen was supplemented by a functional new building. At the Karlsplatz location, the container was reduced to a glass pavilion in the same year.
