Essentials about the Armory in brief
The Innsbruck Armory was formerly an arsenal of weapons, built by Emperor Maximilian I at the beginning of the 16th century. Today it houses parts of the Tyrolean State Museum. It offers a historical and technical collection of the cultural history of Tyrol from early times to recent history. In addition, changing special exhibitions are offered. In summer, the Armory’s inner courtyard is the venue of an open-air cinema and concerts.
