Essentials about the Bergisel Ski Jump in brief
Which town has a ski jump on its doorstep? Innsbruck of course! Twice being the venue of the Olympic Winter Games and a winter sports location par excellence, a ski-jump is of course an indispensable part of the Tyrolean capital. Every year ski jump fans make a pilgrimage to the Bergisel Ski Jump (Bergiselschanze) to witness the jumps of the legendary Four Hills Tournament (Vierschanzentournes). The Bergisel Ski Jump, built in 2003 according to plans by star architect Zaha Hadid, is a true architectural highlight and one of the landmarks of the city of Innsbruck. For those who are not so enthusiastic about ski jumping, the Bergisel Ski Jump offers an observation deck and a restaurant on its tower, from where you can enjoy a superb view of the whole of Innsbruck and the Nordkette mountain range in the background.
