Essentials about Hungerburgbahn in brief
The Hungerburgbahn is one of Innsbruck’s landmarks. The two kilometer long funicular railway connects the city center with the Hungerburg at an altitude of 860 meters. It was rebuilt in 2007 according to plans by star architect Zaha Hadid.
Whoever wants to enjoy a great view of Innsbruck should not miss a ride on the Hungerburgbahn. The train also takes you to the Alpenzoo Innsbruck. And if you want to go further into the mountains, you can change to the Nordkette Cable Car (Nordkettenbahn) at Hungerburg mountain station and continue up to Seegrube or Hafelekar (for more details see the Nordkette Cable Car).
