VIENNA TECHNICAL MUSEUM

Description

Essentials about the Vienna Technical Museum in brief

Technology fans are recommended to visit the Vienna Technical Museum (TMW), which is one of the largest and most interesting of its kind in the world. Covering an area of 22,000 square meters, the museum displays an incredible variety of exhibits and models from the history of technology, of course with a special focus on Austria’s contribution to technological development.

The exhibition at the Vienna Technical Museum

The large historical demonstration models of the Technical Museum are outstanding, for example from the fields of railroads, shipbuilding, aviation and industry. The multimedia and interactive presentation of the exhibited objects with numerous experiments make technology tangible and literally understandable. For children, there are the special “Mini” and “Mini Mobil” experience areas. And last but not least, lovers of musical instruments should visit the TMW, as it houses one of the largest collections of historical musical instruments in Austria.
