Essentials about the Autoworld in brief

For car enthusiasts the Autoworld is a must-see during a visit to Brussels. Housed in a historic hall in Parc du Cinquantenaire, the museum displays more than 300 historic cars, motorcycles, trucks and buses from the various eras of vehicle construction. The focus of the Autoworld exhibition is on Belgian makes. However, there are also many vehicles from other European countries and the USA on display.

Details on the Autoworld

The Autoworld is located in a neoclassical building in Parc du Cinquantenaire, which was created on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Kingdom of Belgium in 1880. Car and motorcycle exhibitions were held here as early as the beginning of the 20th century. The present Autoworld was opened in 1986 as a vehicle museum. Today, the Autoworld has a permanent exhibition of over 300 vehicles, whose history dates back to the late 19th century. A large number of the vehicles come from the collection of Ghislain Mahy, a Belgian automobile pioneer and passionate collector.

In addition to the historic vehicle exhibition, the Autoworld has special exhibition areas dedicated to specific themes. In the “Sport & Competition” area, for example, the milestones of motorsport since the beginning of the 20th century are on display. In addition, temporary exhibitions are also regularly organized at the Autoworld.
