Located in the heart of Brussels, not far from Grand Place, Rue des Bouchers (Butcher Street) is known as the “belly of Brussels”. And rightly so, because on both sides of the narrow street are more than 80 restaurants and bars where you can enjoy French, Flemish and Mediterranean cuisine. Due to its central location, Rue des Bouchers enjoys great popularity among tourists, but the people of Brussels themselves also stop in at the establishments. Especially in good weather, the terraces of the restaurants fill up in no time at all and there is hardly any way to get through. By the way, in a side alley of Rue des Bouchers you can see Jeanneke Pis, the bronze statue of a girl peeing while squatting – the female counterpart of the famous Manneken Pis.
