Activities in Flamengo Park

Completed in 1965, Flamengo Park is the work of famous landscape architects Lot de Macedo Soares and Roberto Burle Marx. The park has always been a center of sports activities in Rio. Often the finish line of marathons is located here and the famous Rio bicycle race also crosses the park.

For amateur athletes, there are several tennis courts, basketball courts and, of course, soccer pitches. And you can watch the local ball artists play futevole (the Brazilian mix of beach volleyball and soccer). Plus, the park even has its own zone for remote-controlled airplanes. On weekends, Flamengo Park is a very popular place for barbecues, picnics, recreation and sports, especially among families.
