Essentials about Torre Branca in brief

If you want to enjoy a magnificent view over Milan, you should go up to the Torre Branca (Branca Tower). The 109 meter high iron tower in the middle of Parco Sempione is one of the tallest buildings in the city. From the observation deck at the top of the tower, you have a unique view of the city’s sights, such as the top of Milan Cathedral, Sforza Castle and Parco Sempione. On clear days, the view even extends to the Alps to the north and the Apennines to the south.

The history of Torre Branca

Torre Branca was built in 1933 according to plans by Gio Ponti on the occasion of the fifth international art exhibition Triennale. Throughout history, its name changed several times. Originally called “Torre Littoria” (after the fascist term “fascio littorio”), the tower was renamed “Torre del Parco” after  World War II and finally, after the renovation in 2002 by the Branca company, it was christened “Torre Branca”.

Visiting Torre Branca

Visitors to Torre Branca ride up the tower in small groups in an elevator in about a minute. On some days, the tower is also open in the evening, so you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Milan at night. By the way, at the foot of the tower there is a very popular café.
