MINIATÜRK

Description

Essentials about Miniatürk in brief

If you don’t have time for a round trip through the whole of Turkey, you can see the country’s highlights in miniature in Istanbul. The open-air Miniatürk Museum is one of the largest amusement parks in the world, with miniature models of Turkey’s most important sights spread over an area of six hectares.

The miniature models in Miniatürk

Opened in 2003, Miniatürk is located at the end of the Golden Horn. On the site you can see over 120 models of Turkey’s most important buildings on a scale of 1:25. The main focus is, of course, Istanbul. The Anadolu Hisari and Rumeli Hisari fortresses, the palaces of Beylerbeyi, Çirağan, Dolmabahçe and Küçüksu, the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, Chora Church, the Basilica Cistern, the Eyüp Sultan, Suleymaniye and Sultan Ahmed Mosques, the Galata Tower, Hagia Irene, Hagia Sophia, the Maiden’s Tower – all major sights of Istanbul can be admired here in small.

But Minitürk is not limited to Istanbul and Turkey; there are also some important sights from other countries to see, such as the Ajad Castle in Mecca, the al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem or the Alabaster Mosque of Cairo.

Further attractions in Miniatürk

In addition to the miniature models on display, Miniatürk Amusement Park also features an amphitheater, a children’s playground, a life-size chessboard, a maze and, of course, a restaurant and a souvenir store.
