UNIVERSAL CITYWALK

Description

Essentials about the Universal CityWalk in brief

If you make your way from the parking lot of the Universal Studios Hollywood to what is perhaps the most famous movie studio in the world, you will automatically pass through the shopping and entertainment center called Universal CityWalk. The Universal CityWalk is home to more than 30 restaurants and several bars where you can fortify yourself before or after a visit to Universal Studios, as well as more than 30 stores. And entertainment at CityWalk includes a multiplex movie theater, an outdoor stage for live music performances and plenty of street performers.

The grounds of the Universal CityWalk

The central square in CityWalk is spanned by a large radiating lattice. The square features a fountain designed by the same planners as the legendary water show in front of the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. The Universal Cinema is a multiplex cinema with a total of 19 screens and an IMAX theater. Attached to the cinema is a giant monitor that shows upcoming Universal Studios movies and music videos.

Entertainment at CityWalk is provided by the interactive outdoor stage called 5Towers. It is the artistic centerpiece of CityWalk and features regular live music performances. Street performers, magicians and musicians provide additional entertainment for passers-by.

The majority of the stores in CityWalk are clothing stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Billabong, Element, Fossil, GUESS or Skechers. But there are also several gift and souvenir stores.

If you get hungry during this overdose of shopping and entertainment, you can fill your belly in one of more than 30 restaurants and fast-food outlets. For the most part, CityWalk features the usual suspects of the American gastronomic scene, such as the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Johnny Rockets, KFC, Panda Express, Subway, Starbucks, Taco Bell, and Tony Roma’s. And fans of the Hard Rock Cafés can also stop in at one of the cafés, which is hard to miss because of the giant guitar on its facade.
